How  are Fidusa Single Speed and Fixed Gear bikes different from other types?

A Single Speed bike has only one gear ratio – a single chainring and only one rear sprocket. It has a freewheel which means you can stop pedalling and coast as you ride, as you would with a regular geared bike.

A Fixed Gear doesn’t have a freewheel, so your legs are permanently engaged with the rear wheel – when you’re moving, you’re pedalling. Both versions use the same type of frame with horizontal dropouts to adjust the chain tension dependant of the size of the chain ring and sprocket.
